I'm Meshael (Mesh) Rahman, an independent researcher and programmer with academic foundations in structural engineering and astrophysics. I spend my time investigating the questions that keep me up at night, building things that probably shouldn't work (but sometimes do), and diving deep into rabbit holes of knowledge.
Interests & Research
I spend my time exploring and thinking about:
- Philosophy & Epistemology: How do we know what we know? What frameworks can help us better understand reality and make decisions in complex environments?
- Technology & AI: I'm fascinated by local AI implementations and self-hosted solutions. I enjoy building resilient home infrastructure systems and exploring the potential of AI without cloud dependencies. The theoretical foundations of machine intelligence and its implications for human cognition are particular interests of mine.
- Finance & Market Systems: Markets as complex adaptive systems that reflect both human psychology and technological evolution. I analyze them through both theoretical models and empirical observation.
- Longevity & Human Enhancement: The technical and philosophical implications of extending human capabilities represent one of our most intriguing challenges.
- Information Security: Exploring the evolution of security in our interconnected world, particularly in self-hosted and local-first systems.
Professional Background
My work spans public infrastructure, mission-critical facilities, and technological innovation. I've worked across multiple disciplines, giving me a unique perspective on complex systems and project delivery. Currently, I focus on infrastructure development and system modernization in the public sector.
Connect
I enjoy engaging in discussions about any of these topics or exploring potential collaborations. While I maintain a busy schedule, I'm always interested in connecting with others who share similar intellectual interests.
